Aug 1 Dubai old Town

Have you ever had an expectation of a place then it proves to be so not even close?  That's how old Town was. We took a cab to Old Town. 40 min ride from where we are. Pretty fun tho. Got to see a lot of the sites from our air conditioned car. The ring is the new Dubai museum. Then we were driving and saw another hole in this huge building. I was able to snap a photo of the Khalafi building between the opening. Wish it was more level but not bad from a car window. The Khalifa building is the tallest in the world around 2200 ft. It is exactly 2 times the Empire State Building. We aren't going to the top. Not only is it $80 US pp to just ride the elevator up but I think it would just freak me out!!  We arrive at Old Town. Here I expected to see an old industrial run down part of the city. Quite the contrary. It literally was an Old City. My camera wasnt taking photos to do it justice but took them anyway. We are at this authentic Indian restaurant to get us primed for india in 36 hours. Oh my it was so good. The views of the water and the full moon was spectacular. We had this lamb in a spicy green sauce then roasted potatoes in a spice have no idea what they cooked them in served with an amazing red sauce then curry with paneer served with garlic naan. Just so good. Then we took a cab to the Dubai mall. The biggest mall in the world to watch the dancing fountains. Pretty spectacular. I know I have said this a few times now but it is Vegas and NYC amped about 100 times. So incredibly clean no crime just amazing. Can't say that about India😬😬. We didn't expect to enjoy the UAE as much as we have. We will have gone 5 days without using any currency. Everything is debit card. We don't even know what it looks like. We may exchange a little cash just to bring some home😜. Wilson has kept currency from every country we have visited. In fact he has currency from every country he has visited during his lifetime of travels. Pretty cool.  Until tomorrow
