July 19 penguin day
Well we really saw the penguins at Bolder Bay. So many babies. These penguins are native to South Africa and not found anywhere else. At the turn of the century there were over 1 million. Now there are only about 3,700 left. Quite sad. We also learned that penguins have an auto desalination in their noses. It keeps the penguins from getting too much salt from the water and eating the fish. In the last post I mentioned that the owner told us about the baboons stealing the pillows from inside their house so they can sit on the roof and not burn their bottoms. This other fellow was just walking down the sidewalk in town. He wouldn't move over as we approached him so we went across the street!! Guess we know who owns this town!!
